The Independent National Electoral Commission has postponed the governorship and state assembly elections scheduled to hold on March 11 by one week.

The elections will now hold on March 18, 2023.

The reason behind the postponement may be connected to the Court of Appeal ruling today granting the Labour Party Presidential candidate,Peter Obi leave to inspect the Bimodal Voters accreditation system ( BVAS) which INEC has argued that they will require to conduct the next poll.

The next election is that of Governorship and House of Assembly.
