In a statement signed by the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Afam Osigwe SAN, the General Secretary , Mobolaji Ojibara and the Chair of the Conference planning, Emeka Obegolu SAN, the Nigerian Bar Association has relocated the venue of the 2025 conference from Portharcourt to Enugu.
On the 19th of March 2025, the President of Nigeria installed a sole administrator on Rivers State sacking the Governor and members of the legislature. The action which the NBA and well meaning Nigerians condemned was heavily criticised .
The 2025 Annual General Conference of the NBA was scheduled to hold in Portharcourt before the unconstitutional government was installed.
