The Message of Eid!
We woke up today to greetings of ‘Eid Mubarak’ from family, friends and well-wishers – from Muslims and Non-Muslims alike, all wishing Muslim Faithful a salutary end to the Ramadan Fast.
As the world battles a common foe today (the Covid-19 Pandemic), people of all faith have come together in a united fight for survival. There is a better understanding of our shared humanity and joint destiny, and a deeper acceptance of our respective religions.
So, I join my Muslim colleagues in having a Blessed Feast – which is what ‘Eid Mubarak’ really means. As we celebrate quietly in our homes, let us remember the significance of the just concluded Ramadan and the time of spiritual reflection, self-improvement, and heightened devotion and worship which it afforded us.
Eid Mubarak!
