Federal High Court in Abuja has commenced the trial of former chairman of the Pension Reformed Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, for alleged money laundering.
Maina and his company, were, however, absent for the hearing, likewise his counsel.
As a result of the absence of the defendants and their counsels, Justice Okon Abang fore-closed their rights to cross-examine the prosecution witnesses who was present in court.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is prosecuting Mr Maina for alleged money laundering to the tune of N2 billion.
Justice Abang, after listening to the testimony of the sixth prosecution witness, adjourned the matter to the twenty-fifth of November, 2020 for continuation of trial.
