FACEBOOK ONLINE POLL FOR NBA GENERAL SECRETARY – A CALL TO RESPECT CONSTITUTED AUTHORITY
Good evening learned Seniors and Colleagues. We believe you are keeping safe and observing social distancing.
Our attention has been drawn to the proposed 3rd Online Poll for the office of the NBA General Secretary by the Steve Sun led Nigerian Bar Association Members Facebook Group. It will be recalled that our Alex Muoka won the first two Polls by the same Group conducted earlier this year- clearly indicating the goodwill he enjoys with a large number of Nigerian lawyers.
With the recent release of the ECNBA’s Guidelines for the 2020 NBA National Officers Elections and the restrictions it imposes on campaigning by aspirants, we are compelled to announce that Alex Muoka will NOT participate in the said online poll. This decision is necessitated by the need to respect the authority and guidelines of the ECNBA in following the published rules of the 2020 electoral contest, and has been communicated to the organiser of the Poll.
Our Alex Muoka has submitted his nomination papers to contest for the office of General Secretary of the NBA in the 2020 NBA National Officers Elections and is focused on preparations for the actual polls slated to hold on the 24th and 25th of July, 2020. We, therefore, urge all our supporters NOT to partake in the Facebook online polls and rather direct their energies and time to mobilising for the real contest.
