POSTGRADUATE BAR COURSE FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2019/2020
Applications are invited for admission to the Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (Bar
Course) 2019/2020 Academic Year including former Bar Course students repeating the entire Bar
Course or repeating failed subject(s).
Requirements for admission
Applicants for admission to the Bar course must have:
- Obtained an LL.B from a University accredited by the Law Council or been confirmed by
an accredited University as having the requisite qualifies for the award of an LL.B having
successfully completed and passed the LL.B course. Persons who have completed and
passed the LL.B in 2019 are eligible to apply for admission to the Bar Course 2019/20. - Passed the Law Council LDC Pre-entry Examination in 2016 or 2017 or 2018. Applicants
who have completed the LL.B in 2019 shall receive appropriate guidance from the Law
Council regarding the LDC Pre-Entry Examination 2019 and their eventual admission to
the Bar Course 2019/2020 shall be subject to such guidance.
Campuses for Bar Course
LDC shall conduct the Bar Course at both its Kampala and Mbarara Campuses. Applicants should
indicate their preferred campus and any special circumstances they would like LDC to take into
account in allocating them to a campus. LDC reserves the right and discretion to allocate a
successful applicant to either campus.
How to Apply
Applicants should pick application forms from the office of the Academic Registrar upon
payment of an Application fee of two hundred thousand shillings (200,000/-) to the Law
Development Centre Centenary Bank Account number 3100050985. Bank slips can be picked
from LDC Accounts Office.
Application forms can also be downloaded from LDC website (www.ldc.ac.ug) and payment
made before submission.
Applicants repeating a subject/subjects should indicate clearly the subject/subjects to be repeated.
Deadline for receiving applications
Applications should be submitted to the office of the Academic Registrar not later than Friday 9th
August 2019.
