The NBA Ikorodu Branch reports that ALL AWAITING TRIAL CASES IN COURT 2, IKORODU HAVE BEEN DISPENSED WITH
After 14 months since the initiative began in Ikorodu Magistrate courts, with over 150 cases handled by Court Duty Solicitors from NBA Ikorodu, the NBA Ikorodu Branch announced that most of the awaiting trial cases have been resolved and they now have less cases to handle. The Branch announced at its monthly meeting today that all cases in magistrate Court 2 have been resolved while only a few left in other courts are pending.
NBA Ikorodu Branch has taken its probono court decongestion a step further by appearing in Ikeja High Court where they have started the initiative to decongest Justice Coker’s Court and by extension the prisons.
With the support of the Judiciary, OPD and Total E&P Coop, the NBA Ikorodu Branch has managed to make a success story out of the new method of decongesting courts and the prisons.
With the DPP filtering system now in play, we are bound to see our courts and prisons unburdened
